Zanjan, Jan 2 – Following necessary studies by the World Tour Operators Federation, Iran's hosting of 2017 World Tour Operators Confederation was finalized.
A member of Inspectorate Board of Iran Tour Operators Center Oweis Kiani told IRNA Saturday that World Tour Operators Confederation is hosted by one of the volunteer countries every two years and this is the first time for Iran to host the entity during its 33-year history.
Inspectors of the World Tour Operators Confederation arrived in Iran on a 15-day tour and visited the country various trouism sites, infrastructure such as hotels and tourism services.
Kiani, also head of Zanjan Tour Operators Center, further noted that nearly 500 international tour operators will travel to Tehran on 17 January, 2017 to attend the 17th round of the confederation.
He pointed out that the confederation will last 12 to 15 days and will be held in of pre-confederation, main ceremony and post-confederation sections.
Under the first program of the confederation, a group of tour operators will visit Qazvin, Zanjan and Hamedan, he said.
The main ceremony will be held in Tehran for four days wherein elections of presiding board and the next host of the 18th round of the confederation will be discussed, Kiani said.
Describing the confederation as an opportunity for indentifying weak points of Iran's tourism industry, he said that it will help change attitude towards Iran in the International scene.
The confederation is a turning point for improving the country's tourism infrastructure, Kiani said.
